ISLAND GIRL was born in Vienna, but its heart has always belonged to Sri Lanka — the island that shaped every collection, the vibe, every story we told. Behind the scenes, our work has always been done by local hands: from the tech side to the creatives who brought our ideas to life, supporting the Sri Lankan economy has been part of who we are from day one.

We built this brand to celebrate South Asian culture in all its color and complexity — and to celebrate the people who live it. Our models have always reflected every facet of what “local” really looks like, because representation was never an afterthought here, it was the whole point. Our Tabrobane collection is our clearest love letter to that — an ode to Sri Lankan culture at its sweetest, inspired by bombai muttai, brought to life by a Sri Lankan artist’s hands.

Because at its core, ISLAND GIRL was always about one thing: express yourself, authentically — and celebrate diversity, fully, without apology.
